ACT Out East's Showcase Programs offer workshop-based
classes in musical theatre for ages 6-9 and 10 and up. The classes include singing, dancing, and acting and are based
on selected musicals. Past showcases have included Annie, Willy Wonka, Hairspray, Grease, and a compilation of Disney
Broadway Musicals. This twelve-week program is designed as for those who are new to musical theatre or who may not be
able to committ to our full year, intensive Mainstage Program. - ACTING instruction
includes theatre games and improvisation
- VOICE
instruction includes projection, ear training, and basic technique
- DANCE instruction includes rhythm technique and ensemble numbers
Each student is given a CD of the songs which will be performed for the showcase.
The showcase consists of the songs and dances the students worked with throughout the semester. The showcase takes place
on the final day of class. All classes and the showcase performance are held at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall in Riverhead.
